Standalone Connection Guide - Windows XP

1. Click on the "Start" button and select "Control Panel". (Note: For XP classic mode, click on "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel")
2. Click on "Network and Internet connections" (Note: For classic mode, click "Network connections".
3. Click on "Network Connections".
4. Click on "Create a New connection".
5. Click "Next".
6. Select "Connect to the Internet".
7. Click "Next".
8. Select "Setup my connection manually".
9. Click "Next".
10. Select "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password".
11. Click "Next".
12. Enter "Primus" as the ISP Name.
13. Click "Next".
14. Enter your fully qualified username (user@magma.ca, user@biz1m.primustel.ca, user@dsl.ca etc..)
15. Enter your password in the "Password" and "Confirm password" fields.
16. Ensure the box for "Turn on Internet connection firewall for this connection" is checked.
    WARNING: If you have Windows XP Service Pack 2, you will not see this box as the firewall will be enabled automatically for you. Please skip to step 17.
17. Click "Next".
18. Select "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" to place a shortcut on your desktop.
19. Click "Finish".
20. Click "Connect" to connect.
