Enabling Wireless on your wireless modem
- Directly connect a computer into one of the Ethernet ports on the modem, they are labeled 1-4.
- Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox etc..) and enter 192.168.1.254 into the address bar and click go or hit enter.
- You will see the home page of the modem, look for the section called "Home Network", in the centre of the screen, and click on "wireless"
- On the next screen click on "configure" on the top right.
- Put a checkmark in the Interface Enabled checkbox.
- There will now be a heading called Security with three Encryption options. By default, Disabled is selected. We recommend choosing the WPA-PSK option (WEP is also available).
- The Encryption Key will be noted below the encryption types (it should match the one on the sticker on the bottom of the modem)
- Click the Apply button to save the changes
- The modem's wireless light should now turn on. The colour will depend on the encryption type:
Red = DisabledOrange = WEPGreen = WPA-PSK
