Can I Run Joomla or Wordpress?
Yes! You can run Wordpress and Joomla's latest versions on our Hybrid Cluster.
- Please ensure that you have a package that supports Scripting and MYSql. You will need to be on the Enhanced package or above, our packages can be viewed here.
- You will need to turn on PHP and configure your database, This is done in the Management Console at http://myaccount.primustel.ca
- If you are going to turn on PrettyURL's, Clean URL's, SEO URL's etc.. that require a rewrite to be done please review the rewrite section below.
- To install Wordpress follow the Famous 5-Minute Install Guide. To install Joomla follow the Joomla Installation Guide
Rewrites
Our Servers run on ZEUS Webserver, thus you will not be able to use the Apache "mod_rewrite" rules to turn on clean-urls in most CMS systems. If you need to have the rewrites they will need to be installed on the back end of the ZEUS Webserver. The Following script is one that our users have found to work with most configurations of Joomla and Wordpress. We will install the script for you but cannot support modification of it if it does not work for your install.
