File Restoral

The file restore tool allows you to easily restore older versions of files into your website which you may have recently changed or deleted. The following historical copies of your website content are available for immediate restoration:

An hourly copy taken "on the hour" within the last hour.

An hourly copy taken "on the hour" within the last two hours.

A daily copy taken at 00:00 this morning.

A daily copy taken at 00:00 yesterday morning.

A weekly copy taken at 00:00 on the most recent Monday.

Regular backups of your website content are also made to tape. Primus generally keeps tape backups of your website content for at least two months. If you require a tape restore of your website content, please contact Primus's technical support team. There is a fee for each tape restore of $95 and it can take up to one business day to have the restore done.

Using the File Restore Tool

To use the file restore tool, you first need to select the time period you would like to restore from. Once you choose the time period, you will be able to navigate through all of the files and sub-directories which existed within your home directory as of the specified time period.

Once you see the file you would like to restore, click on the "Restore" button. The file will be copied into your "live" home directory and will be immediately available. If a newer version of the file exists in your "live" directory, it will be overwritten with the older version.

If you would like to check to see if the older version is different than the "live" version, you can click on the "Perform Diff" button. The results of the diff will appear in a pop-up window.
